People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. -Mark 10:13-16
It can be easy to stress and worry when we feel like we don't have the answers or things completely under our control. What we tend to forget is that we were never meant to have all of the answers. Simple, child-like faith is enough.
The Kingdom of God does not belong to those who have it all figured out. It belongs to those who have thrown their hands up in surrender and cried "Father!"
As you go into this weekend, remember that the strength of God is made perfect in our weakness. Be blessed and encouraged in that!
"In the middle of the night when worry finds me
In the middle of a fight when strength is gone,
In the middle of a fire, when fear is closing in,
You are, YOU are my song.
You're my hope when hope is gone."
This week we'd like to share with you all what we believe is such a powerful anthem for the church from our friend Tim Timmons. Cast My Cares is a daily reminder to "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." - (1 Peter 5:7)
On writing music for the church Tim says...
“Most times when we stand and sing worship songs to God, we honestly don’t connect with the emotion of words. But, if we stop and think of three things we are grateful for, or a make a mental list of our worries and then cast it all on Jesus as we worship Him, we can own our response to Him. And it is within this simple exercise, that the power of the Spirit lies.”
For the next week we'll be giving this song and it's resources away for FREE here at Essential Worship. Enjoy! Cast My Cares- Free Download
