"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever!"
We love Psalm 118 because it is such a beautiful passage of thanksgiving and praise to God for all that He is, all that He's done, and all that He will do. The reason for the season, and all seasons of life are to bring glory to God and Thanksgiving is no different.
We often talk about the fact that worship is not just what we do for the first 15-20 minutes of our church services. Worship is an everyday decision and a lifestyle for those who believe in the one true God.
Yet as a worship leader, it can be easy to fall into a rut of doing our jobs and then heading home, without reflecting on the reality of what we doing. That's why it's important to remember our redemption in worship.
A definition of redemption we love:
Redemption- the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt.
We worship because our debts have been cleared! Our sins no longer have the ability to hold us, and we are guaranteed victory through our relationship with Christ!
We know how difficult it can be to find upbeat, encouraging songs that speak to the young people in your congregation. So we've pulled together a playlist of songs to help! Featuring artists like Vertical Church Band and Elevation Worship, there's a great mix of uptempo and reflective songs alike that are theologically sound and adaptable for even the simplest worship bands.
What are some other songs you've found that work great with your youth ministry? What needs or challenges do you face when service planning for the young generation of your church? We'd love to hear from you!
